Possibly! Lavender's concept came to me as an almost complete package of ideas that just needed a bit of refinement, which isn't usually the case for games I try to make, so it'll have to depend on whether I get a good idea of how to mix up another familiar fairytale.
Basically: if I get a good idea for one, you can bet I'll try again! I'm just not 100% sure which fairytale it would be and what the game would play like, because I don't have solid ideas for such a game right now.
Great! There's so many classic fairy-tales that are out but I believe the Brother's Grimm versions carry more and have more authenticity if you know what I mean!
It depends; some fairytales like the ones Andersen wrote don't tend to have Grimm versions. I also don't 100% stick to fairytale plots when I adapt them into games, so if you want a game that's closely authentic I fear I might not really deliver what you're hoping for...
Still, if you don't mind some rewritings, you might enjoy any future fairytale adaptations, if I make any.
It was a pretty sweet game, it was cute but had some little secrets in it. The music was fairly nice and the puzzles were just right. It's a fairly nice RPG maker game, with some very nice little visuals as well! Video❤
Neatly done! I loved the visual aesthetics, it looked really nice. The puzzles were fun and fairly challenging, not enough to be annoying though, hah. I have to agree with some of the earlier commenters that I wasn't entirely sure where the secret ending fits in the narrative or what was exactly happening there. Nice job overall though!
Uhm uh As I was playing your game, my laptop suddenly shuts down by itself and when I restart it back...I cant play this game anymore! It just wont move! It starts well with the music and all but I cant get to move or enter begin! Helppppp! I really want to play ! I was so into this~! I tried re downloading it, but it still didnt work!
It's okay if you cant help as I can just watch the game on youtube but, I WANT THE SHEET JOY AND SATISFACTION OF PLAYING THIS GAME! ESPACIALLY CUZ IT WAS BASED OFF FROM RAPUNZEL! ID TAP THIS
It wasn't horror, but it had a nice atmosphere from the music and really pretty graphics. Also, it's a nice take on Rapunzel.
One thing I'm a bit confused about is (*spoiler*) the three statues of children/people at the bottom. I know they've got something to do with the three plants at the beginning but I guess the meaning has just gone over my head! (*end of spoiler*)
This game was really good! Going in knowing it was a horror game left me with a strong sense of paranoia and tension playing through, worrying about what would happen if I got caught trying to sneak out or having been caught losing the brush. Unfortunately because of this I rushed through and forgot to explore around and find all the key items, and had to redo it to get the hidden ending ^^; The hidden ending was very eerie though- I found it very interesting that all of the stages in the tower are somewhat claustrophobic but otherwise safe, but once you get underground and the space opens up and the screen scrolls, that's where you find the actual horror.
I was a bit confused by the ending, however, and what all of the strange things happening down there were. It was definitely very creepy and I had the definite sense that I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to see, but it was hard to tell exactly what it was. In some ways that added to the sense of horror, but in other ways it made the very end feel more confusing because I wasn't sure WHY Lavender's mother had to *spoilers*.
The art for this game was really good though- I loved how simple it was. It made the sprites really beautiful, and very cute. Did you make all of the art yourself? It was a really fun experience, and I'm glad that I played it!
Too be quite honest the endings left me unsatisfied and the experience was quite underwhelming, I really hoped this game would be a demo to the full version because the story was intriguing and left me wanting more. Overall this game is also far too short the latter puzzles are way easier then the first puzzles and I felt you overdid it with the warnings to the content because this hardly feels like a horror or scary game at all. But I do have to say the graphics are quite pretty and I enjoyed the cutscenes.
This was such a fun little game to play! I really enjoyed all the puzzles. The flower one was definitely my least favorite of the bunch, but it was also probably my favorite in terms of design and concept. I guess my only main complaint would be some of the story elements. Maybe I'm just a little dumb, but I didn't really understand the secret ending all that well or how it fit in with the rest of the story. But otherwise, I had a good time playing it and seeing the cool extra content =D
I really quite enjoyed this game, and had a good time going through it. I liked the cute pixel art, as well as the enchanting BGM that was quite in tune with the game's surroundings. The puzzles annoyed me, because I'm a big goober who can't solve anything without someone holding my hand, but most of them were not hard enough to ruin the game's pacing. I found the story really hard to grasp in the end, which may or may not be something negative. It allowed for a lot of speculation, which is something I appreciate. (Or maybe I'm just an idiot who didn't catch the story that was obvious)
I made a playthrough of it if anyone wants to have a look: (warning: contains a lot of cussing and borderline edgy "humor"(don't worry dev, I managed to avoid the bad jokes with which one would not like one's content to be associated ;^) ))
I loooooooved it! I just created an account only to post this and say how amazing this game is! Also, a few years back I was kinda addicted to creating games in RPG Maker, so I understand all the work and technique the game must have required. And your artwork is also flawless! Congratulations!
Good job guys, cool puzzles and nice atmosphere make this game a pleasure to play :D Not to mention the art style and the creepy secret story to discover, an original turn on a classic fairy tale. Although the part that most impressed me were the pink hair hanging everywhere, ew.
I made a video playing your game:
if you want to check, really congrats you on this one, can't wait to see more games from you, cheers!
For a short game this was an amazing experience! The puzzles were fun & a bit challenging, but not to hard. The story was nicely paced and I loved the extra room! I hope to see even more amazing games by this artist! And last but not least thank you for making such a great game!!!
Lavender is a lovely game about a birthday girl who is not locked in a tower.
10/10 - IGN "Would play again, best game of the year GOTY!"
In all seriousness, the game was very artistic in its design. Each "level" is a floor of the tower presenting a new puzzle each time. If one is observant enough there are "Pink Hairs" laying about which lead to something sinister. The game keeps to its word that horror elements are only there for you to find. However, during my playthrough I found the horror side by accident. I really enjoyed the game and I'll be sure to check out more from Clockwork Prince. Very good job!
Hi there! I really loved this game; I'm a sucker for fairytale remakes! :D Would you mind if I made a let's play of your game? If not, I completely understand, but I wanted to ask first since you've got some great secrets in the game ^ - ^
Really enjoyed this, a nice narrative twist to the Rapunzel story with lovely art style, music and tone. Downloaded 1.01 yesterday and got both endings since then. Enjoyed the puzzles. I have found a small bug in the new bonus room, though - as I walk towards the paintings the scene becomes blurred? Quite strange and not found elsewhere in my playthroughs. I downloaded 1.2 with the patch.
Yo, really liked this ♥, a deceptively cute art style, some nice music and generally good, logical puzzles and I got both endings. One issue: had to use a walkthrough on the cauldron puzzle because while it turned out my solution was correct, it wasn't clear to me that you have to click the spoon to submit it. I also had to use it for the last puzzle, and I still don't understand how that one works, but I'm pretty sure that was just me bein a dumbass, and not an actual problem with it.
Hello, I have finished the game two times and enjoyed it a lot. I would like ask some questions, though. First, are there more than two endings? I have the normal one and a secret one, not sure if there is more. Also, after the secret ending, the game opens the main menu. If you exit out of it, the game closes. Is this intentional? I assume, it would be over anyway, it's just a little strange to me. I am not 100% sure that I completely got the whole story, however, I don't want to post spoilers here, so I am unsure of what to do.
If you would like to ask spoiler-related questions, yet not post them here, you can always ask me on Tumblr or on RPGMaker.NET if you have an account there. If you don't have one on either site and would rather not get one either, let me know and I'll think of something.
I'm sorry if this sounds dumb but I can't solve the flower puzzle it keeps telling me the flower needs more time to grow? But I've waited for minutes and can't pass the puzzle please help ;^;
It's a hint that tells you you have to make one of the other flowers grow before you can click on the same flower pot again. Sorry if that was unclear!

Love these re-take on the Brother-Grimm's like versions of classic fairytales. Will you be making more?

That's really strange... To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if I can give you a fix, as this could be unrelated to my game, but I'll try.
Do you have any controllers plugged in when you try to play the game? Those sometimes interfere with the keyboard controls.
If that doesn't work, try using the tool linked by Cherry in this thread.
Thank you very much! And thus, now I can play the game~! Tysm! And hahaha sorry if it's kinda unrelated I just panicked XDDD
I made a video for it! It is such a beautiful and well made game!
Part 2
It was short but i really enjoyed it. Also i loved the Secret Ending and the Bonus Room. Keep it up. ♥♥♥
i'm trying to play this game on the itch app for windows (store) and it won't let me click anything on it. what am i supposed to do?
It wasn't horror, but it had a nice atmosphere from the music and really pretty graphics. Also, it's a nice take on Rapunzel.

This was a cute little game, but I was kind of disappointed in the ending. My full review can be found here: http://horrorrater.blogspot.com/2017/03/what-do-you-think-of-when-you-think-of.html
I can't install the game on the itch client, can you please make the downloadable file(s) executable directly instead of rar, thanks !

Very cool and cute game.
Here is my gameplay of it.
Loved it.
Very cute! I liked the Rapunzel feel of the game, and the puzzles were well constructed.
I talk about Lavender a little more in my blog here: http://pajamagaming.blogspot.com/2017/01/free-itchio-games-4.html

Tick tock went the curious zebra
Something is wrong with mine every time I get to the balance one the scale is already up and everytime I add the right animals it does not work
Which version of the game are you playing?
v1.03
I've looked into the bug and put out a patch. This should fix the problem!
thank you so much
Just a heads up: earlier today I accidentally uploaded a faulty patch, so if you run into issues again, you'll have to download the new one.
Glad I could help and let me know if you run into trouble again! I try my best to keep my games as free of bugs as possible.
Thank you again for letting me make a let's play of your amazingggg game! :D I had a lot of fun voicing Lavender and Rosalie ^ - ^

Of course. There's a .txt file in the foot folder that should help you with Let's Play guidelines!
Thank you so much! :D I'll upload it Monday; I can definitely follow those guidelines ^ - ^
